Supporting Our Priorities

We have a bold vision to transform rehabilitation medicine. Your giving to Spaulding empowers us to do more.

Give where it’s needed most.

Rehabilitation is helping people faced with the challenges of illness, injury and disability to find their strength. Our vision for Spaulding is about offering our patients and families the best of what’s possible today — and changing the nature of what’s possible tomorrow. Be a part of our longstanding mission of healing and hope.

Our Funding Priorities

  • Exceptional Care

Consistently ranked in the top three of the nation’s rehabilitation hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, Spaulding puts the needs of patients and families first.

With your support, we can sustain and expand our innovative care programs and equip our dedicated clinicians with all the tools they need to help our patients thrive.

  • Transformational Research

Home to Harvard Medical School’s Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Spaulding is unlocking the science of recovery.

With your support, we can invest in our research team to drive discovery in rehabilitation medicine, bringing novel treatments to patients that much faster.

  • Special Initiatives

Knowing that the best rehabilitation means going above and beyond, Spaulding offers meaningful programs that build on our extraordinary care to ensure optimal outcomes.

With your support, we can maintain and enrich our specialty services that help strengthen our patients and families physically, mentally and emotionally.

Campaign for Spaulding Research Institute

The Campaign for Spaulding Research Institute — the largest fundraising campaign in Spaulding’s history — was launched in 2016 and successfully concluded in 2022, raising $95 million for Spaulding. This groundbreaking philanthropic effort established a focused rehabilitation research enterprise at Spaulding — the Schoen Adams Research Institute at Spaulding Rehabilitation. This comprehensive campaign also supported innovative care and specialty programming in rehabilitation medicine across Spaulding Rehabilitation.

Thank you to our generous supporters for making this work possible.

Scott A. Schoen, former chair of the Board of Trustees at Spaulding, and Nancy W. Adams made a lead $10 million gift to support the Campaign for Spaulding Research Institute, including the establishment of the Discovery Center for Recovery from Chronic Pain that bears their names.
