Advocacy at Spaulding Rehabilitation Network

Advocacy with and on behalf of people with disabilities is core to the mission of Spaulding Rehabilitation Network. This takes many forms across the continuum of care, encompassing efforts such as ensuring our patients receive the tools necessary for post-discharge support, embracing concepts of universal design in our state-of-the-art facility in Charlestown, promoting workforce development for people with disabilities, and enhancing the lives of the communities we serve through legislative advocacy. As we tackle challenges at the local, state and international level, Spaulding’s important voice and expertise is visible to those in decision making roles and is at the fore of community advocacy initiatives. At Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, our mission is to go “Beyond Compliance” at all times.

As a major center of research, education and clinical care, Spaulding is committed to advancing the quality of life for all individuals within the communities we serve.

The Council on Disability Awareness (CDA) is an advocacy group composed of employees from throughout the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network and Partners HealthCare at Home to promote the empowerment and inclusion of individuals with disabilities and their community through access, advocacy, and educational initiatives.

The Working Partners Program is a public/private partnership between the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network (SRN) and the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) centered on employment for people with disabilities.
